Mumbai-based Wishtry, founded in 2016 by Yogita Parekh, Shailie Parekh and Aditi Mehta, is another player hoping to cash in on trend reversals in the segment. The platform works the same way where people who sign up for gift registries create a wish list, essentially a selection of gifts they would like to receive, which guests can then access. The company has created over 4,500 registers and over 1,300 wish lists to date. “People in India are now accepting this innovative concept. We see gift registries as a defining concept, destined to change the entire gift ecosystem in India, ”said Mehta.
