Christmas is less than a week away and however you prepare yourself food is probably on your list. Here is a plethora of ideas for gifts, snacks and meals.

Rubio’s Coastal Grill offers a Limited Edition Spreading Taco Cheer Holiday Gift Box ($ 49.99) that can be ordered through Monday at rubios.com for delivery before Christmas. French bakery from the Pyrenees (717 E. 21st St.): The longtime local bakery has new sourdough Christmas breads. Choose from a Christmas tree or wreath, $ 7.50 each. Although his bread is sold in many local stores, these holiday breads are only available in the bakery. Call 661-322-7159 to order.
Black Angus Steakhouse (3601 Rosedale Highway): The restaurant offers a special Christmas Eve dinner ($ 36.99) consisting of an 8-ounce prime rib or a 6-ounce filet mignon, accompanied by a lobster tail fresh Atlantic and a choice of two classic dish accompaniments. Guests can also order “Santa’s Cookies”, which are accompanied by a decorated Black Angus cookie and a special QR code to track Santa’s journey.
Take-out options include the Family Take-Out Meal ($ 99, for four), which is available Thursday through January 1, consisting of four 8-ounce servings of prime rib with your choice of homemade mashed potatoes or of five grain pilau rice, garlic butter broccoli, horseradish, au jus, molasses bread and eight chocolate chip cookies. The a la carte prime rib is available in quarter ($ 149.99, serves six to eight) or half ($ 279.95, serves 12 to 14) servings. (Note that these pre-orders must be placed 24 hours in advance.)
El Pollo Loco: The chain offers seasonal items through December 26, including the “Family Vacation Dinner” ($ 20), featuring 10 pieces of chicken, two large sides and tortillas; chicken pozole verde; Mexican hot chocolate; or tamales (à la carte or in sets of 6 or 12).
Ming coffee (1918 L St.): The downtown Chinese restaurant is open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Dining options are also available. Call 661-323-4914 for a quote.
Padre Hotel (1702 18th St.): “Jingle all the way” at the hotel’s Belvedere room for Christmas Eve dinner (4 pm to 9 pm) or a Christmas meal (10 am to 8 pm). Entree options include a turkey dinner ($ 32) with roasted turkey breast, confit thigh, mashed potatoes, almond green beans, classic stuffing, cranberry gravy and gravy; prime rib ($ 52) with pepper crust of dijon, baked potato, roasted carrots with thyme, gravy and horseradish cream; and honey glazed ham ($ 32) with au gratin potatoes, crispy Brussels sprouts and apple and grape chutney. Desserts include eggnog cheesecake ($ 10) with orange whipped cream, cinnamon, and a ginger crust; and Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Pie ($ 10), served with vanilla ice cream.

sizzling (900 Real Road and 2650 Mount Vernon Ave.): The chain offers a Heat and Eat meal ($ 74.99) that serves six with three-tipped sirloin, bourbon pepper sauce, green beans, mashed potatoes and cheese macaroni. Orders require 24 hour notice and can be placed on sizzler.com.
