Lafayette, La. (KLFY) – Hundreds of enthusiastic buyers packed the new Aldi Supermarket showcase for its grand opening in Lafayette on Thursday. Before opening the doors, Lafayette executives and supporters celebrated the store opening with a ribbon cutting.
Long queues and crowded aisles filled the market.
Both Angel Cormier and Cole Dooley say they are fans of the supermarket. “I’m very excited,” Cormier said.
Dooley said: “I’m from Houston and I know Aldi really well, I love it.”
Rodney Lewis had never shopped at Aldi before. He likes the prices and thinks the new location is a great investment in the Lafayette community.
“One of the first things I thought of was businesses in Louisiana, we need to see more of that.”
He also likes the idea of opening new locations across the city. “It’s perfect because it’s closer to where I am.”
For a chance to win a $500 gift card, you need to go to the Lafayette store and scan a QR code provided by the employees.
