When it comes to choosing gifts for special occasions, Father’s Day is among the toughest. While that’s certainly not the case for all dads, many go ahead and buy themselves whatever they want — and, let’s face it, are pretty happy with it.
So, what to give to the partner or the dad that they don’t already have? An experience, what. An experience gift can be an incredibly thoughtful way to show the recipient how much you care, as well as help create lasting memories, especially if you and the whole family can get involved.

Ahead, we’re sharing some of our favorite experience gifts for dad this Father’s Day. Whether it’s a visit to the spa that he can turn into a whole day of pampering, or a stay in a tiny house where he can finally switch off, consider gifting him some to celebrate the day. .
A massage at home
For a busy dad, setting aside time for a spa treatment you gave him can often make him more stressed. Help him take the hassle out of it by booking a session with a therapist from the Blys Mobile Self-Care Service who will come directly to his home. You can even book her a specific treatment, like a deep tissue massage, cupping massage, or sports massage, or get her a voucher.
A visit to the spa
If your dad has time for a spa day away from home, book it somewhere he can stay and take full advantage of the facilities afterwards. After a treatment at the Star’s Darling Spa in Sydney, he can use the Moroccan hammam chamber, steam room and hot tub. At Crown Spa Melbourne he can use all the Aqua Retreat facilities including a vitality pool, steam room or 25m pool.
A stay in a small house
Help dad burn out by giving him a stay at an off-the-grid tiny house. You can get her a voucher from one of the many tiny house-specific accommodation providers, like Tiny Away or Unyoked, or get a gift card to use at Airbnb, which offers thousands of private tiny houses.
Brewing beer is a fascinating process, and if the father in your life enjoys the drink, he’ll love learning about it. On RedBalloon’s Micro Brewery and Beer Tasting Tour in Sydney, he’ll spend an afternoon visiting three craft breweries, learning about the craft beer making process and, of course, tasting the beer in each of the three locations. A Melbourne version, Urban Beer Tour With Lunch, will see him spend a full day visiting four breweries and craft beer venues, and having lunch in between.
