Gift box celebrates and supports the artists of Providence

A limited series of 100 gift boxes showcases the works of eighteen local artists and arts organizations.

The city of Providence and the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau (PWCVB) have teamed up to launch a limited edition gift set, titled “Hope Springs Back: A cool collection from the creative capital. “Organized by Giving Beyond the Box, this box celebrates artists based in Providence and donates part of the profits to Rhode Island Artists Relief Fund. It brings together the work of eighteen artists and organizations who make Providence the capital of creation.

“It was an incredibly fun project that helps support local artists and small businesses, while providing an opportunity for them to be recognized beyond the city,” said Kristen Adamo, President and CEO of PWCVB.

Previously, Sandra Enos, Founder and CEO of Giving Beyond the Box, created gift boxes to support Rhode Island businesses of color and women-led social and small businesses. “Giving Beyond the Box has organized boxes that give back to the community since our founding in 2019,” explains Enos. “It has been wonderful to work with our partners here and exciting to work with artists and arts organizations to showcase their work. We hope to include other artists and arts organizations in subsequent editions of the boxes.

Each box features a variety of products made by local artists, including an exclusive apron from Frog and toad, gourmet tea or coffee from the makers of Rhode Island, a personalized notebook or note cards and a unique Rhode Island coaster from a Providence engraver.

“Over the past year, our artist and small business communities have gone through tough times, but resilience is our strength here in Providence,” said Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. “I’m really inspired by the Giving Beyond the Box project because it sees members of the local community contributing to a product that benefits the artist community when they need it most, while simultaneously showcasing unparalleled creative talent. of our city. “

The boxes each have a total value of over $ 150, but a limited run of 100 boxes is now available online for $ 100 at give beyond the Boxes can be shipped at no additional cost or picked up from Frog and Toad in Providence.
